All references to OBD-I is referring to these systems.

Does the EZ-Scan/EZ-Link Scanners Support OBD-I Jeep Products?

Yes, but only for model years 1991 and later. Chrysler badged Jeeps starting in 1987 or 1988, however these vehicles still contain the old AMC diagnostics through model year 1990. The Autoxray product lines do NOT support the AMC diagnostics only the SCI diagnostics added in 1991-later.

Do Autoxray Products support Brake/Transmission/HVAC/ or Air Bag Systems?

Not at this time. The EZ-Scan / EZ-Link / OBD-I scanners are currently programmed for engine diagnostics only. The scanners will read trouble codes, sensor data, and clear codes for the engine computer only. Many transmission codes, however, can be read through the engine computer. Since all EZ-Scan and EZ-Link scanners are upgradable, there may be support for these systems in the future.

Do Autoxray Products support the LH Body Chrysler Models?

Yes. Both. the EZ Link and OBD-I scanners support the LH body models '93 -present. From '93 -'95, however, the connection to the Powertrain Control Module is under the dash, and is a small square connector unlike the SCI cable that works for the rest of the OBD-I Chrysler vehicles. Eventhough Autoxray does not manufacture a cable connection for these vehicles. You can call Autoxray at 1-800-595-9729 and request a copy of the SCI Autoxray Cable to LH connector schematic.

What does the EZ-PC 500 software do?

The EZ-PC 500 (formerly PC-Link) feature allows you to connect the EZ Link or EZ Scan scanner to a Windows 95/98/2000/XP PC and graph sensor information, download software upgrades for your scanner, print out capture data and eventually will allow you to share your data with others on the net.

How does the Capture Mode Work?

The EZ-Scan and EZ-Link products allow the user the ability to take snapshots in 1s (for 30s) /500ms (for 15s) intervals while power is applied to the Engine Control Computer. The first 15 seconds (snapshots) is a rolling data buffer where the newest engine sensor data replaces the oldest until the user presses the trigger (ENTER), this allows the scanner to freeze the rolling data buffer and capture 15 more seconds of data. The scanner also allows user to customize sensor list to be recorded.

Does the EZ Scan or EZ Link Work with Diesel Vehicles?

Some diesels vehicles will communicate with these scanners. However, at this time the EZ Scan and EZ Link Scanners are not guaranteed to work on any diesel.

Send an email to sales@autocheckup.com . I might make you an offer on your old scanner or give you a great deal on an EZ Scan with return of an EZ Link or XP240.

Is my EZ Link obsolete since the EZ Scans' are out?

No. All scanners are completely software upgradeable and CAN capable which means you DONT have to send the scanner back for future vehicle upgrades. All indications are that OBD-II/CAN will be around through 2008. This means your scanner will work on almost all OBD-II vehicles foreign or domestic through 2008 and beyond.
